ABOUT
Jon Onabowu is a Nigerian-British drummer and bandleader whose sound blends contemporary jazz with groove-driven influences from funk, hip-hop, and gospel. As the founder of the Cosmic Fusion residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London (now in its third year) he has helped shape a new generation of live-focused, groove-led jazz in the city. His debut album, Now’s The Time, brings that same ethos into a recorded form and will be released worldwide May 2026. Alongside his own work, Jon is an in-demand collaborator and performer, having toured and performed with artists including Theo Croker, Venna, Balimaya Project and Bubby Lewis.
